The TheScholar Creator Program lets approved creators earn money in two ways: by referring new learners to TheScholar (thescholar.io), and by making content about TheScholar. Taking part requires an application and our approval, and we may decline any application at our discretion. These terms apply alongside TheScholar's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
You earn a 30% revenue share on paid subscriptions purchased by learners you refer. Commission is recurring: it applies to a learner's initial purchase and to their renewals, for as long as they remain a paying subscriber and you remain an active creator in good standing.
Commission is calculated on the net revenue TheScholar actually receives, and is reversed for refunds, chargebacks, and fraudulent transactions. There is no cap on referral commission.
You earn a flat $25 USD for each post we approve — content you publish about TheScholar that we review and accept. Payment is per post, not per view: an approved post earns the same $25 whether it reaches a hundred people or a hundred thousand.
We pay once per unique, original post. To qualify, a post must be your own original content, genuinely and honestly feature TheScholar, carry the disclosure required by Section 6, and meet our content guidelines. We may decline, or stop paying on, posts that are duplicative, low-effort, or that break the rules in Section 7. Our approval records are authoritative.
Approved-post payments are paid on top of any referral commission the same post earns. Approval is always at our discretion, and we may pause or limit new approvals at any time.
Referrals are attributed through your personal tracked link and, where issued, your personal discount code. A learner counts as your referral when they sign up through your link or purchase with your code. Attribution is applied automatically by our tracking systems, and our records are authoritative.
Earnings are paid out monthly via PayPal, after a hold period that covers the refund window on the underlying purchases, and are reconciled against actual received revenue and approved posts before being sent.
You are responsible for any taxes on your earnings and for providing accurate payout and tax information when we request it.
When you promote TheScholar, you must clearly and prominently disclose that you have a paid relationship with us — in each post that promotes TheScholar, not buried in your bio and not hidden behind vague words like "partner." The disclosure must be easy to see and understand before someone acts on your recommendation.
Acceptable examples:
You are responsible for following the advertising-disclosure rules that apply where you and your audience are located — for example, Canada's Competition Bureau guidelines, the U.S. FTC endorsement guides, and similar rules elsewhere. Failure to disclose is a rules violation under Section 7 and may also break the law.
The following are not allowed:
Violations may lead to withheld commissions and content payments, suspension, or removal from the program, depending on severity.
Either side can end participation at any time — you by contacting us, and TheScholar by suspending or closing your creator account. On termination for cause (a rules violation or fraud), unpaid commissions and content payments are forfeited. On termination without cause, earned amounts that survive reconciliation are paid out on the normal schedule.
We may update these terms as the program evolves. Material changes are announced to active creators by email before they take effect. Continuing to participate after a change means you accept the updated terms.
